If there was ever a poster woman for cool, effortless Parisian chic, it  was Jean Seberg in Jean-Luc Godard's 1960 film À bout de souffle, or Breathless. With a disregard for rules complemented by her closely cropped cheveux, her iconic ensembles gave classic a new definition. Swooning for Crooning [Classic Musicals on Amazon Instant]


I grew up watching lots of movie musicals from the '30s, '40s and '50s. It's something my mom grew up doing, and she passed her love along to me. I recently discovered that there is a huge selection on Amazon Instant Video, and most are free to those with an Amazon Prime membership.  Right now I'm indulging in an old favorite, the Doris Day classic On Moonlight Bay. The leading man, Gordon MacRae, is my ideal mix of clean-cut handsome and talented crooner.
